On this page

Google has started connecting Google Business Profile directly to Gemini, giving eligible business owners a conversational way to review profile information, work with reviews and posts, and analyze Business Profile performance.

Instead of opening several different screens, an eligible owner can ask Gemini questions such as:

  • "Show me my recent customer reviews."
  • "Help me draft a reply to my latest review."
  • "What are the top search keywords driving traffic to my business?"
  • "Show me my performance metrics for the past month."
  • "Update my business hours."

But there is an important catch:

The feature is still rolling out, and not every Google Business Profile owner can use it yet.

Google announced the Business Profile connection in June 2026, but its current help documentation still describes the release as gradual.

This guide explains who can currently use it, what Gemini can actually do with a Google Business Profile, how to connect it, and where business owners should still use judgment before letting AI make changes.

Can You Really Manage a Google Business Profile With Gemini?

Yes — if your account is eligible.

Google now lists Google Business Profile as a Connected App in Gemini for eligible users.

Once connected, Gemini can access information from your Business Profile and perform supported actions through conversation.

Google says Gemini can help business owners:

  • review and update profile information
  • work with customer reviews
  • create and manage Google Business Profile posts
  • analyze customer feedback
  • review performance metrics
  • review search keywords
  • surface profile-related recommendations through a Business notebook

Google's current documentation is here:

Manage your Business Profile on Google with the Gemini web app

Google originally announced the integration here:

Save time and grow your business with new Gemini tools

The important thing is to follow the current help documentation for availability because the feature continues to roll out.

Who Can Currently Connect Google Business Profile to Gemini?

Eligibility Check

Can Your Business Profile Connect to Gemini?

Google currently limits the connection to specific Business Profile and account setups.

  • Verified profile access

Be an owner or manager of only one verified Google Business Profile. This makes the connection most suitable today for an individual local business owner rather than many agencies, franchise groups, or multi-location businesses.

  • Age

Be at least 18 years old.

  • Google Account

Use a personal Google Account associated with that Business Profile.

  • Gemini activity setting

Have Gemini's Keep Activity setting turned on.

  • Gemini app

    Use the Gemini web app.

  • Region

    Be in a supported region.

  • Language

    Use a currently supported language.

Google also says the feature is currently unavailable in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom.

Supported languages currently listed by Google include:

  • Dutch
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Hindi
  • Indonesian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish
  • Turkish

And even if you meet the requirements, Google warns that the feature is being released gradually and may not be available to you yet.

How to Connect Your Google Business Profile to Gemini

If your account is eligible, the connection process is fairly simple.

Step 1: Open Gemini on the Web

Go to:

Gemini

Make sure you are signed in with the same personal Google Account that has access to your Google Business Profile.

Step 2: Ask Gemini About Your Business Profile

Try a prompt such as:

Show me the information on my Google Business Profile.

If Gemini does not automatically use the Business Profile connection, Google recommends adding:

@Google Business Profile

to your prompt.

Step 3: Connect Google Business Profile

If the app is not already connected, Gemini should give you the option to connect it.

Follow Google's on-screen connection steps.

You can later manage the connection from Gemini's Connected Apps settings.

Google says you can connect or disconnect supported apps at any time.

Connection flow: Eligible owners and managers can connect a supported Business Profile to Gemini through Google's connected-app workflow.

What Can Gemini Update on Your Google Business Profile?

The integration goes beyond simply answering questions about your listing.

Google currently documents several profile-management actions.

Business Hours

Gemini can help modify regular weekly hours and set special hours for holidays or events.

A practical prompt might be:

Update my holiday hours for Thanksgiving to 9 AM–1 PM.

Always review the proposed change before relying on it, especially for hours that affect whether customers believe your business is open.

Contact Information

Gemini can review and modify supported contact information, including:

  • website URL
  • social media links

You can also ask Gemini to show the contact information currently associated with the profile before deciding whether anything needs to change.

For eligible businesses, Gemini can work with links used for actions such as:

  • online ordering
  • reservations
  • appointments

That can make it easier to review important customer-action links without manually working through multiple profile screens.

Business Attributes

Gemini can review and modify applicable attributes.

The available attributes depend on the business category and may include things such as:

  • outdoor seating
  • Wi-Fi
  • happy hour
  • accessibility or other business-specific attributes

Do not add attributes simply because they sound useful. They should accurately describe the real business.

Photos and Media

Google says Gemini can retrieve media uploaded by the business or customers and can upload new photos using a public URL.

That creates some useful workflows, but photo quality and accuracy still matter.

AI should not replace basic judgment about whether an image accurately represents the location, team, products, or services customers will actually encounter.

For food-related businesses, Gemini can help create, update, or delete menu information, including:

  • menu sections
  • dish names
  • descriptions
  • prices

This is one of the more operationally useful features for restaurants and similar businesses where information changes frequently.

Business Description and Profile Details

Google's examples include prompts such as:

Update my business description.

Gemini can also retrieve location details and profile status information.

This can make profile maintenance faster, but business descriptions still need to remain accurate and comply with Google's Business Profile policies.

Profile management: Gemini can help eligible businesses work with several Business Profile fields, while the owner or manager remains responsible for reviewing the information being changed.

Gemini Can Help With Google Reviews

Reviews may be one of the most immediately useful parts of the integration.

Google says Gemini can retrieve:

  • recent customer reviews
  • star ratings
  • media associated with reviews

You can then ask it to summarize the feedback or identify recurring themes.

For example:

Summarize my reviews from the past three months. What are customers consistently praising, and what complaints appear more than once?

That turns reviews into more than a reputation score.

They can become operational feedback.

You can also ask:

Show me my latest review and draft a professional response.

Google's current help documentation says Gemini can draft or delete review replies.

That distinction is worth noting: do not assume every review action is fully automated. Review any AI-written response before using it.

Customer replies represent your business publicly, and a generic or tone-deaf response can be worse than a short human one.

For more on building a healthy review strategy, see the Local SEO Guide.

Gemini Can Create and Schedule Google Business Profile Posts

Google also documents direct support for Business Profile posts.

Gemini can help:

  • create posts
  • schedule posts
  • publish posts
  • delete posts

Supported post types include:

  • Update
  • Offer
  • Event

A business owner could ask:

Create a Google Business Profile post announcing our fall HVAC maintenance appointments. Keep it concise and professional.

Or:

Schedule that post for Monday at 9 AM.

Google Business Profile itself already supports scheduled posts, but Gemini adds a conversational layer that can make drafting and managing them faster.

Google's separate Business Profile documentation explains how posts appear in Search and Maps and how scheduling works:

Create and manage posts on your Business Profile

One caution: do not confuse the ability to publish posts with a guaranteed ranking benefit.

Google documents posts primarily as a way to share timely information, offers, events, and updates with customers.

Gemini Can Analyze Business Profile Performance

The connection also gives Gemini access to supported Business Profile performance information.

Google currently says Gemini can analyze metrics such as:

  • impressions
  • website clicks
  • direction requests
  • bookings

Google's original launch announcement also described access to signals such as call data and customer engagement.

Instead of manually scanning metrics, you could ask:

How did my business perform last month compared with the month before?

Or:

Which Business Profile interactions changed the most this quarter?

The value here is interpretation.

A business owner may not care that impressions increased by 18% unless they understand whether calls, bookings, website visits, or direction requests changed along with them.

You Can Ask Gemini About the Search Keywords Finding Your Business

Google also documents access to search keywords through the Business Profile connection.

That means an eligible business owner can ask something like:

What are the top search keywords customers use to find my business?

Those queries can help you understand how customers describe your services and which searches are already generating visibility.

But do not treat a keyword list as a complete SEO strategy.

Your Google Business Profile is only one part of local visibility.

If you want to understand how your website is performing in organic Google Search as well, Rankley's Search Visibility tools help bring Search Console queries, pages, clicks, impressions, and trends into a broader view.

What Is a Gemini Business Notebook?

Google has also introduced Business notebooks for eligible Business Profile users.

A Business notebook is designed to give Gemini persistent context around the business rather than making you explain the company again in every conversation.

Google says a business notebook can include:

  • your connected Google Business Profile
  • your business website
  • suggested prompts
  • recent chats
  • proactive business insights

The notebook may surface suggested actions such as:

  • filling in missing profile information
  • adding business photos
  • reviewing Business Profile performance

Google's launch announcement also described Business notebooks as a place to organize business context and receive proactive recommendations.

That could make Gemini useful beyond individual one-off prompts.

Instead of asking only:

What are my hours?

you could eventually use the notebook more like an ongoing assistant that knows which business you operate and which profile you manage.

Useful Gemini Prompts for a Local Business Owner

Once your profile is connected, start with specific requests rather than vague prompts.

Try:

Profile audit

Review my Google Business Profile and show me any missing or outdated information. Do not make changes yet.

Hours

Show me my current business hours and special hours before we change anything.

Reviews

Summarize my ten most recent reviews and group the feedback into positive themes and recurring complaints.

Review response

Draft a friendly response to my latest unanswered review. Keep it concise and do not make promises about refunds or compensation.

Posts

Draft a Google Business Profile Update post about our new service. Show me the draft before publishing anything.

Performance

Compare my Business Profile performance from this month with last month and explain the biggest changes in plain English.

Search keywords

Show me the search keywords customers used most often to find my business and group similar searches together.

Profile maintenance

Review my contact information, business attributes, hours, and links. Tell me what looks incomplete or inconsistent before changing anything.

What Gemini Does Not Replace

Connecting Gemini to your Business Profile does not make local SEO automatic.

It does not remove the need to think about:

  • whether your primary category is correct
  • whether your services accurately reflect what you sell
  • whether your website supports the searches you want to appear for
  • whether your reviews reflect a healthy customer experience
  • how visible you are across different parts of your market
  • whether your business information is consistent across other important platforms
  • whether your local visibility is improving over time

Gemini can make profile management faster.

It cannot change Google's fundamental local-ranking concepts of relevance, distance, and prominence.

If your profile exists but you are struggling to appear for important local searches, read Why Is My Business Not Showing on Google Maps? and our guide to ranking higher in Google Maps.

What About Multi-Location Businesses and Agencies?

This is one of the biggest current limitations.

Google's current documentation says the Gemini Business Profile connection is not available to owners or managers who have access to more than one verified Business Profile.

That means an agency managing many clients, or a business owner managing several verified locations, may not currently be eligible.

This is important because Google's original announcement described the feature broadly for small businesses, while the current product requirements are much narrower.

For multi-location operators and agencies, continue using the appropriate Business Profile management tools and established workflows rather than assuming Gemini can manage the full account portfolio.

The limitation may change as Google expands the product, so check the official documentation before relying on it operationally.

Review Your Gemini Data Settings Before Connecting

Google says you can connect or disconnect apps through Gemini's Connected Apps settings.

Gemini and Rankley Solve Different Parts of the Workflow

Gemini's new connection is primarily useful as a conversational management layer for an eligible Google Business Profile.

Rankley is designed to help businesses understand the profile in the context of broader marketing visibility.

Rankley's Google Business Profile feature brings profile health, performance, customer activity, reviews, posts, and profile information into a structured workspace alongside related visibility signals.

Rankley does not currently replace Google's own profile editing tools.

That makes the two approaches different:

  • Gemini can help eligible owners perform supported Business Profile actions conversationally.
  • Rankley helps organize profile health and performance alongside the broader search and local visibility picture.

The useful question is not which interface is "better."

It is which tool helps you understand what needs attention and which tool is appropriate for making the change.

Your Next Step

If you have access to the Gemini Business Profile connection, start conservatively.

First ask Gemini to show and summarize information rather than immediately changing it.

Review:

  1. profile information
  2. hours
  3. attributes
  4. recent reviews
  5. unanswered reviews
  6. recent posts
  7. performance trends
  8. top search keywords

Then decide which changes are actually needed.

If you are not sure where the biggest gaps are, you can run Rankley's free Google Business Profile Audit to review profile, reputation, website, and local visibility signals before deciding what deserves attention first.
